How it works

AFR is air mass divided by fuel mass. Lambda is that AFR divided by the stoichiometric ratio for the selected fuel.

AFR = air mass ÷ fuel mass. Lambda = AFR ÷ stoich (14.7 gasoline, 9.8 E85, 14.5 diesel).

What AFR should a gasoline ATV run?

Cruise often sits near stoich. Full throttle is usually richer. This page reports the ratio, it does not pick a target.

Can I use grams instead of pounds?

Yes, as long as air and fuel use the same unit. AFR is a ratio, so the unit cancels out.

What is lambda 1.00?

Lambda 1.00 is stoichiometric for that fuel. Below 1 is rich; above 1 is lean.
