ATV Bore & Stroke Calculator

If you know total displacement and either bore or stroke, this page estimates the missing cylinder dimension.

Values update after you calculate. Empty or invalid inputs will not invent a number.

Enter the values and choose Calculate to see estimates.

How it works

Displacement is split across the cylinders, then the cylinder-volume formula is solved for the unknown bore or stroke.

Per-cylinder volume = displacement ÷ cylinders. Stroke = volume ÷ (π/4 × bore²). Bore = square root of volume ÷ (π/4 × stroke).

These results are estimates for planning only. They are not OEM specifications, safety certifications, or professional mechanical, legal, or financial advice.

Bore & Stroke Calculator FAQs

How is this different from the displacement calculator?

Displacement goes from bore and stroke to cc. This page goes the other way: from cc to the missing dimension.

Do I enter overbore size?

Yes, if the engine has been bored. Use the actual bore, not the original catalog bore.

Are answers in millimetres only?

The primary result is millimetres, with an inch conversion beside it.
