How it works

Usable capacity is a percentage of the battery rating, then divided by accessory amps to get hours.

Runtime hours = (battery Ah × usable percent ÷ 100) ÷ load amps.

These results are estimates for planning only. They are not OEM specifications, safety certifications, or professional mechanical, legal, or financial advice.

Battery Life Calculator FAQs

Why use only 80% of the battery?

Deeply discharging a starter battery shortens its life. 80% is a planning buffer, not a chemistry rule for every battery type.

Does the ATV charging system change this?

This runtime assumes the engine is off. With the engine running, the stator may cover part of the load.

Can I add several accessories?

Sum their amps in the electrical load calculator, then enter the total here.
